Michaela Vallin

Michaela Vallin is a project manager and staff scientist chemistry at the Chemical Biology Consortium Sweden (CBCS) at Karolinska Institutet and SciLifeLab in Stockholm since seven years. CBCS is a Swedish national research infrastructure that makes available a powerful and integrated platform for the discovery, development and utilisation of chemical tools for life science applications in close collaboration with academic research groups. From using her chemistry expertise while working in a highly integrated fashion with CBCS’ biology experts and collaborating research groups, she has experience from hit evaluation and tool optimisation based on either isolated targets or phenotypic assays in both human and bacterial systems. Michaela also manages the project review committee, which is an independent board prioritising amongst research proposals submitted to CBCS. Michaela has a MSc in chemical engineering from the faculty of engineering at Lund University and obtained her PhD in synthetic organic chemistry in 2005. She has research experience in both academic and industrial settings.
